Sharp showcased a comprehensive new product line-up to the over 600 dealer representatives from 40 countries who attended its international partner event, Inspire Expo 2018
At the event, which took place from January 15 to 18 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, the company exhibited 15 new print devices, all available for sale by March 2018. New launches included a complete refresh of its A3 mono range, new generation A4 mono MFPs and improved light production print systems. On the visual solutions side, highlights included a new BIG PAD interactive whiteboard, video conferencing solutions for meeting rooms and huddle spaces, Sharp Signage, as well as an interactive table.
New line of A4 mono MFPs
Inspire 2018 saw the unveiling of a completely new range of A4 mono MFPs, the result of Sharp’s first joint venture with partner Foxconn.
The MX-B355W and MX-B455W Advanced Series models boast print speeds of 35 pages per minute (ppm) and 45 ppm, feature a UI that’s consistent across the range and offer the same powerful workﬂow features and ease of use as Sharp’s A3 devices.
In addition to meeting all basic print, scan and copy needs, the MFPs can be easily integrated with existing network applications and public cloud services, enabling information to be securely shared and accessed anywhere, anytime. The models also come equipped with Sharp’s multi-layered security suite.
A3 mono MFPs
Sharp has further strengthened its mono range with the launch of ten new A3 MFPs based on its successful A3 colour MX Series. With print speeds from 30 up to 60 ppm, the refreshed range which is available in both Advanced and Essentials variants now means that whichever A3 device customers choose, whether colour or mono, the user and IT experience is the same.
Intuitive, time-saving functions include a customisable touchscreen interface, a motion sensor that detects approaching users (Advanced models only), and an integrated pull printing solution as standard.
The mono Essential Series models (MX-M3050, MX-M3550, MX-M4050, MX-M5050 and MX-M6050) meet all everyday offce needs with the option to upgrade as required. The Advanced models (MX-M3070, MX-M3570, MX-M4070, MX-M5070 and MX-M6070) include additional functions such as Office Direct Print and cloud connectivity. Both series offer a wide range of finishing options.
Refreshed light production printers
The new MX-7090N and MX-8090N robust, versatile light production systems deliver professional colour printing, outstanding productivity and exceptional print quality.
Featuring the same easy-to-use touchscreen interface as Sharp’s A3 and A4 offce products, the two new entry-level light production devices print and copy at up to 80 pages per minute. Capable of printing on coated, uncoated and embossed media up to 300gsm, both models offer a wide range of input and finishing options, ensuring users have the ﬂexibility to produce brilliant quality materials tailored to the requirements of individual print jobs.
Smart meeting room
In a future technology area, Sharp showed an 8K display and professional camcorder, integrating capabilities for video shooting and recording, playback and line output. These devices will form the basis for Sharp’s R&D work on an 8K ecosystem.
Within the exhibition area, Sharp showed a series of meeting spaces, equipped with Sharp BIG PAD interactive whiteboards to help people share ideas and work together more creatively and efficiently.
Highlights included: 4K BIG PAD: Sharp’s newest BIG PAD, its frst ever 4K touch panel completes its range of displays for sharing information in meetings, from entry-level displays to advanced touch solutions.
Sharp Portal Meeting: This cloud based, video conferencing solution removes the need for expensive in-house IT infrastructure and support. It enables the meeting organiser to invite up to 50 participants to collaborate effectively using the device that is most convenient to them at the time.
User friendly and easy to use, it has a consistent and intuitive user interface. Participants can join from any location, easily share content, view presentations, application windows, web pages and even annotations made using Sharp pen software. Data is fully encrypted, meetings can be kept private by adding secure conference PIN codes and the ‘Lock my room’ feature allows the organiser to close a meeting room once all guests have joined to ensure confidentiality.
Sharp Plug and Meet: Sharp’s Plug and Meet has been designed to be a compact and neat solution for any collaborative huddle and meeting space, and is the perfect companion to Sharp’s Portal Meeting video conferencing software.
This mobile, self-contained, video conferencing solution features a modern design and instant on functionality, and comes equipped with a 40” BIG PAD interactive capacitive touch display, Windows 10 solid state PC and wireless hub, and embedded web camera and speakers.
Sharp Signage: A cost-effective, turnkey solution which enables users to display engaging and relevant information on sleek, modern professional signage displays. Digital signage software with sophisticated features and intuitive user operation such as pre-designed templates and the ability to share content across a wide range of different screens. Users can securely update content from any location and upload existing files remotely via an intuitive web interface.
Collaboration Station: Typically designed with two to six users in mind, the Collaboration Station comes equipped with audio and visual systems to allow users to seamlessly create, manage, visualise and share information.
This modular solution is a new way to improve teamwork and productivity in the work space. It provides a convenient meeting room alternative for large offces, public areas, universities, colleges and organisations that want to utilise their existing working space more effciently.
The station is customisable with a range of upholstery and seat alignment options to choose from.
Sharp BIG PAD Interactive Table: The new Early Years Edition provides a wealth of collaborative learning opportunities using the very latest PCAP touch technology, offering 10 point touch and the ability to write, draw and annotate directly onto the screen using with either a fnger or the included 2mm tip touch pen.
A fully built-in Android PC removes the requirement to connect an external device for uploading and displaying content. The self-contained and future proofed Interactive Table offers full HD resolution for the highest visual clarity. It can be easily tilted and locked into position, allowing pre-schoolers to interact together around the table. Alternatively, it can be tilted further to 75 degrees before being locked into place to enable children to use it more comfortably whilst sitting or if they are playing on their own.
